Kin stood beneath the bridge on the West Side of town. He watched at the sun rised on top of the water as he leaned back against the concrete wall that ran beneath the bridge, car’s roared overhead. He shivered as the cool cement touched his bare back, dressed in sweatpants, and in his hand he held a t-shirt as he stood barefoot in the sand.
It had been over three hours since he’d left the hospital. He’d been so ready to leave, get out, escape. Now, he didn’t know what he wanted. He stood there, waiting, but he wasn’t sure what he was waiting for.
Rhienne left the hospital sullenly, her mind beginning to feet for Kin. How had he managed to get away? Was he doing ok now that he was out of medical care? Had he left to do something — drastic? To the people who had tortured him? Or worse… to himself. She walked into the station heavily as the sun rose, her mind full of everything except her tasks for the day ahead.
